You understand that phenomenal overall experience — online and offline — require that you step into the person’s shoes and advocate and build for them. You are passionate about developing a site in which the online experience supports offline, face-to-face gatherings. You want to get your hands dirty: gathering & writing requirements, working with a designer/UI engineer on wireframes and interface prototypes, doing rigorous user testing, project managing the implementation of your ideas . . . and then celebrating when your customers love what you built.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Gather and prioritize business requirements, member needs, and market demands. * Lead a cross-functional team to develop ideas for new product elements as well as enhancements. * Work with a UI engineer to develop prototypes, using your knowledge of usability considerations. * Track and analyze any relevant usage metrics. * Schedule and project manage product development, including user testing. * Write all copy relating to your product area.The Ideal Candidate will have:
* 4+ years of product development experience * An interest in both real-world and online community * The ability to work calmly under pressure and meet deadlines and budgets * Excellent leadership and communication skills, including the ability to interact with executives, programmers, and our customers with equal ease * A functional understanding of current web technologies and standards * A strategic understanding and awareness of Internet industry trends * A strong design sense * The ability to manage your own time * Insatiable curiosity * Hands-on experience with HTML/CSS/JavaScript and JSP technologies a plus * Basic graphics abilities a plusMeetup’s team is smart, relaxed despite regular deadlines, ambitious, and a lot of fun.
