Job Description:

uShip (www.uShip.com) is seeking one individual to join our team as a full time Senior Web Developer. This individual will work directly with the Director of Development and the executive team to build and grow the uShip website/marketplace. We are looking for individuals who:

• Are comfortable working in a small but very fast paced, start-up environment
• Enjoy solving varied and ambiguous problems
• Are extraordinarily detail oriented

• Enjoy the downtown Austin atmosphere and wearing shorts and flip-flops to work.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop web applications using VB.NET, ASP.NET, JavaScript, XML and HTML
• Work directly with the Director of Development to manage the development team
• Independently lead small development teams on projects
• Program and implement new functionality within the site in accordance with project deadlines and through effective interaction with the Product Development team

• Modify existing application to improve performance, etc….

Job Requirements:

• Experience architecting & developing highly scalable web applications
• Experience working with and leading a team of developers
• Strong coding skills with ASP.NET, .NET 2.0
• Experience with SQL Server (stored procedures, indexes, etc…)

• Experience with JavaScript, CSS & XHTML

Our Ideal Candidate would also have:

• Master’s degree in computer science or related discipline from a top school
• Experience with Source Control (Subversion) / Coding in a team environment
• Experience with Windows Servers
• Experience Designing / Architecting Applications

• GIS experience (a major plus but not required)
