Web Crawler Engineer:
Our music search engine is a key part of our business and we are looking for a top notch developer to enhance our web crawling capabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Write clean, readable, testable, well documented code
- Join a small, agile team of developers as a key contributor
- Take ownership of our vertical web crawling engine & page scraping framework
- Enhance & automate our data validation, verification & de-duplication capabilities
- Help refine our music metadata model
Required Skills:
- 5+ years of OO software product development experience, preferably using PHP and Python
- Extensive background in multi-threaded application development
- Experience designing, implementing and owning/enhancing data models
SERIOUS BONUS POINTS:
- You built a vertical web crawler, and want to do it again
- Mad database query optimization skill
- Experience working on a rapidly growing, high-availability, high transaction system
- You've worked at a startup, loved it, and want to do it again
- At some point you've written code for free or 'just for fun'
- A BS or MS in Computer Science
- Music Lover
